You Can’t Think Your Way Out of Everything

You Can’t Think Your Way Out of Everything

There’s a point where thinking stops being helpful.

Most people don’t realise when they’ve crossed that line.

It can starts off useful, reflecting, analysing, trying to understand what’s going on.

But theres a point when it turns into:

  • overthinking
  • second guessing
  • running the same loops again & again

Trying to find clarity through more thought.

And it doesn’t come..

The mind will always try to solve things in the classic way it knows how.

By thinking more.

Breaking things down.
Replaying situations.
Trying to land on the “right” answer.

But not everything is a problem to solve..and is there even a “right” answer..

Some things are patterns or behaviours to notice.

Some things are emotions to feel.

But some things, some things just need space.

We’re taught to rely on the mind, “think things through”

Work it out.

Make sense of it.

Be logical.

So when something doesn’t shift, our instinct is to double down.

Think harder, try again, push for clarity.

But theres one small part most people miss.

Overthinking can look productive, but it’s often just a way of staying in your head, repeating your patterns, finding comfort in the familiar..in the safety..

Instead, why not try:

  • feeling what’s actually there
  • having the conversation you’re avoiding
  • making the decision you already know is needed

Not more thinking.

You’re doing something different

  • Stepping away from the loop
  • Getting into your body (movement, breath, meditation)
  • Letting the noise settle instead of trying to control it

That’s usually when things start to shift for me!

Not because I forced any answer but because I created space for one.

Letting go of control, expectation..

Choosing a direction & trusting yourself to handle what comes with it.

If you’ve been stuck in your head lately, it might not mean you need to think more.

It might mean it’s time to step out of it.

Even briefly.

Because for me, clarity tends to show up when I stop chasing.
